The capital of the Mecklenburg County, Charlotte is the largest city of the American state of North Carolina and the 20th largest city of the entire nation. Located in the south-central part of the state in the Piedmont region, near the South Carolina border, the city of Charlotte is about 130 kilometers away from the state capital of Raleigh.
